A Home of My Own:  Town of Chino Valley Edition

In an effort to demonstrate a proactive approach to tackling the affordable housing crisis, the Town of Chino Valley has partnered with Yavapai County to offer pre-approved house plans to residents in our community.  Pre-approved plans save you time and money associated with hiring an architect to design and submit custom home plans.  These pre-approved plans can be used by anyone looking to build a home within Chino Valley's jurisdiction.  These plans come in 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom designs and a garage or carport can be added as an option.  The variety of sizes ensures that options are available to meet different family needs and budgets.

A Home of My Own plans cannot be used if any of the following conditions exist:

  • Sloped lots - Plans are designed for slab on grade only.  Engineered pads on sloped lots are acceptable.
  • If the geotechnical report requires a different foundation design, e.g. Post Tension Slab.
  • If applicant or owner wants to deviate from the approved plans.
  • Reconfiguration - exterior or interior walls.
  • Slab to wood floor system.
  • Structural changes.
  • Change in roof truss manufacturer or design.
